Solution Approach
Using the provided information of geographic location, roof pitch, obstruction height and orientation, the optimal location for the solar panel system was determined. The expected energy output and payback period were then calculated using the expected solar irradiance, capital cost of the system, expected maintenance costs, electricity savings and revenue from renewable energy credits.
